Applications
Continuous casting
Graphite dies and molds for non-ferrous continuous casting.
In horizontal and vertical continuous casting, molten metal flows through a graphite die and freezes into strand. Graphite is the only material that combines non-wetting behavior against non-ferrous melts, thermal shock resistance and self-lubrication — the die both shapes and lubricates the strand.
Why graphite here
Non-wetting
Bronze, brass and copper do not stick to a polished graphite die.
Self-lubricating
Layer structure gives low friction — no external die lubrication.
Thermal shock resistance
Dies survive the meniscus zone's steep temperature gradients.
Typical parts we machine
casting dies, mold inserts, guide and support parts, cooling-zone liners
Grades: isostatically pressed fine-grain graphite — selected per duty and confirmed with you before quoting.
